Birmingham Student Eats: Cafe Fifty5

Seriously, how good do those cakes and macaroons look?

Happy Friday! This evening I have a new foodie post for you, as part of my Birmingham Student Eats series, which has been going down very well so thank you!

Yesterday I had a much-needed, lunchtime catch up with some friends at a new cafe in Selly Oak, the student hub of Birmingham.

Cafe Fifty5 is a Pan-Asian cafe which not only serves delicious main courses and sides, but also shows off some gorgeous treats which I will definitely be going back again soon to try!

To start off with, the interior to this place is wonderful, I absolutely love it. Especially this elephant print on the wall which I was very happy to sit next to!

Food-wise, I started off with the sesame prawn toast, which was so tasty, not greasy at all and served in an adorable little basket...

Now, as the terrible blogger that I am, I forgot to take a photo of my main course (sorry!!). But I can tell you that I had the honey lemon chicken and enjoyed it immensely, this will definitely sound odd but it smelt like a lemony dessert and tasted a little like perfection - I was in food heaven for a while.

Cafe Fifty5 is well-priced, well located and perfect for any student wanting a good lunch or dinner, I know I'll be returning soon for sure!

Do you have a favourite restaurant in Birmingham?

  1. The food looks so good! I've only been to Birmingham once before and went to Jamie's Italian (love that place), definitely need to give this place a visit next time!
