We were so lucky with the sunny weather, which will hopefully stay for a while!
What did you do this weekend?

Yesterday morning Luke, my parents and I enjoyed breakfast at
Blue Mountain Yard, a wonderful cafe in Wolverton Mill, Milton Keynes.
As the sun was shining we sat outside with our two dogs, who both very much enjoyed the bacon that my mum 'secretly' passed to them under the table!
Drinks-wise, Luke had a hot chocolate, whilst my parents and I went for lattes - the mugs that the drinks are served in are so cute and the drinks themselves were really yummy.
For food, I had a cheese and mushroom omelette, which would usually come with toast but, as I don't eat bread, I had it without and it was still a perfectly sized and seriously good breakfast.
My parents had bacon sandwiches and Luke went for a sausage sandwich, all of which was thoroughly enjoyed. I love the little pots that the sauces come in with the food, I think it's such a nice touch!
Blue Mountain Yard is always busy, especially at lunch times (their curried chicken is TO DIE FOR), and I would really recommend this cafe for any meal of the day. It's especially great if you're looking for somewhere outside of the main city centre and the traffic that comes along with it!
The staff are always so friendly and happy to help, the interior is airy and really well-decorated, the food is amazing - what's not to love?!
Have you found any foodie hidden gems recently?

Yesterday morning Luke and I fancied trying somewhere new for breakfast, so we took a trip to
Giraffe in the Centre:MK. It was amazing!
For drinks, I tried the Sunrise smoothie, which was a blend of banana, orange and strawberry - my three favourite fruits. Luke went for the fresh orange juice and they both tasted great, they reminded me of summer holidays!
Luke went for the Full Brunch without baked beans, which was bacon, herby sausages, potato wedges (which tasted incredible), scrambled egg and sourdough toast. The sausages were so yummy and I think that I will definitely be trying this breakfast next time!
I went for the pancake stack with maple syrup and streaky bacon - I think the picture makes it look like there wasn't enough bacon, but there definitely was and I could barely finish my plate. The pancakes were so soft, sweet and fluffy, they definitely fulfilled my sugar craving!
We finished off our breakfasts with a hot chocolate (Luke) and a latte (me). I loved the little glass mugs that the drinks were served in. In fact, I loved the whole experience: the food was so good, we couldn't have asked for better service and the restaurant is really airy and bright.

Yesterday morning my parents and I got up early (way too early for a Saturday!) and took the dogs to Ashridge, a beautiful park/wood near Dunstable.
Ashridge has a really under-rated, incredible cafe that serves all day breakfast and was pretty busy, even at 9:30am. There was also a lot of people with dogs too, so I was in my element.
I went for the veggie breakfast (2 veggie sausages, toast, tomato, fried egg and mushrooms) and my parents had bacon and egg baps. The dogs had doggie sausages, which seemed very popular!
After breakfast, we went for our walk. The scenery at Ashridge is unbeatable and the weather made our morning all the more enjoyable. The woods are so large that, even with a full carpark, it never really feels too busy.
After walking we tried the really cool looking coffee/smoothie/juice/porridge van that was in the carpark. The guy who owned it (I didn't get his name) was so friendly and the drinks were delicious! I went for coffee as I was super tired, but next time I will definitely be trying a juice.
If you are ever anywhere near it, Ashridge is a really great place to go for breakfast, lunch or even just a walk, especially in the summer.
The small cafe shop has some really lovely bits and pieces, the monument is huge and most of the time it's open to walk up too. We had a lovely morning; sometimes family time and good weather is all you really need!

Yesterday, to save me from continuous exam stress, my wonderful Mum visited me in Birmingham for a mother-daughter day out.
We started our morning with breakfast at
Bills in the Bull Ring, which is one of my absolute favourite restaurants, and both ordered the blueberry buttermilk pancakes. It was the first time that I have ever tried pancakes in a restaurant and they were really amazing!
The fruit that came with the pancakes (bananas, strawberries and blueberries) went really well but, my only criticism, I was not too keen on the bacon mixed in. If I was to have the same again, which I definitely would, I wouldn't add the bacon, however, my cloudy apple juice most certainly made up for it!
I highly recommend Bills, there is not a single thing on the menu that I don't want to try and I can tell you from experience that their full English breakfast is also delicious. If you do want to visit in the evening or on a weekend morning I would suggest booking, as it does get super busy, for good reason!
